The film is written and directed by Arun Matheswaran, who earlier made the acclaimed films: ‘Rocky’ and ‘Saani Kaayidham’. Those two movies were certified ‘A’ because of raw and brutal violence. But ‘Captain Miller’ has to be trimmed down to get a ‘U/A’ certificate, so that it can reach a wider audience. The censor details of the film are out on the internet.
The applied runtime of ‘Captain Miller’ is found to be 2 hours 42 minutes and 26 seconds and the final runtime is 2 hours 37 minutes and 50 seconds. The censor board has trimmed out 4 minutes and 36 seconds of the upcoming period war action drama. Cuss words, stabbing, violent hitting, blood spurts and some intense fight sequences are trimmed.
Captain Miller has Dhanush in the titular role, a rebel who takes on the system with his outlaws. It also stars Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken, Nivedhithaa Sathish, Edward Sonnenblick and others.
