Andrew Luck is embracing an old meme in the most fun way possible.
After the 49ers routed the Giants 30-12 on “Thursday Night Football,” former Colts and Stanford standout quarterback Andrew Luck appeared on the postgame show in full Union Army Civil War uniform.
For those not in the know, X account @CaptAndrewLuck became uber-popular during his playing career.
The account, which featured a black and white avatar with Luck in uniform, penned fake letters, usually to his mother, as if he was actually living in the 19th century.
Clarissa Thompson introduced Luck to the set, saying, “This is where the kids say, if you know, you know. Andrew, welcome to the show. How have you been?”
Andrew Luck leaned into an old meme.
Luck then leaned into the meme in hilarious fashion, even getting a salute from the panel before he doffed he cap.
“Great, the war is over,” he said. “We have greener pastures in California. Life is good.”
Luck, a former field general of the Colts, retired after the 2018 season but gave things a go in a quiz game with the postgame personalities, correctly answering a question about the Getty Center in Los Angeles.

Now that he’s not playing on the field, Luck is now coaching football at Palo Alto High School as he pursues a Master’s degree at Stanford’s School of Education.
“The first week he got here, we have our whole playbook and he walks in not knowing any of our plays,” Palo Alto senior quarterback Declan Packer told The Mercury News. “The next day he comes, he knew every single play. It was crazy — he knows everything about football.”
Luck, just 29 years old at the time of his retirement, finished his career with 23,671 passing yards and 171 touchdowns over six seasons.
In his final year, he won AP Comeback Player of the Year and earned his fourth Pro Bowl nod.
