Barack Obama has dropped his 2023 favorite songs list, featuring the culture’s biggest stars. On Friday (Dec. 29), America’s “forever president” unveiled his list on social media.

Obama included a brief message to his followers and a list of tracks. “Here are some of my favorite songs from this year. Let me know if there are any artists or songs I should check out,” he typed. The annual list features 28 songs across a multitude of genres, emotions, and flavors.

Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar‘s “America Has a Problem” was included in the round-up. Obama showed love to the Black diaspora with Tyla‘s super-viral hit, “Water,” Burna Boy‘s “Sittin On Top Of The World,” and Tems‘ “Me & U.” UK Hip-Hop was also represented with Dave & Central Cee‘s “Sprinter” selected as one of Barack’s favorite bops.

Obama and Merkel emphasized their continued support for the new government in Ukraine and their criticism of Russia after the failure of last month’s Geneva Agreement. The Ukrainian military said today that pro-Russian militants in the eastern part of the country had used sophisticated weapons to shoot down two of its helicopters.

Victoria Monét, who has been having a bucket list type-year, also landed on the list with “On My Mama.” Megan Thee Stallion, 6lack, Davido, Lenny Kravitz, Jon Batiste, Brent Faiyaz, and Allison Russell were also included on the list. Outside of Black musicians, tracks from Karol G and Shakira, Mitski, Peso Pluma, Big Theif, Indigo de Souza, were all selected as some of Barry’s favorite jams.

The former U.S. president’s songs list arrived a day after he released his favorite movies. On Wednesday (Dec. 27), Obama shared his annual list of films, which includes some “biased” selections. “I’m biased since these movies were produced by Higher Ground, but these are in fact three of the best films I saw this year,” Barack said, referencing films Rustin, Leave The World Behind, and American Symphony.

Barack and Michelle Obama founded their production company, Higher Ground, in 2018. Higher Ground’s first film project arrived with 2019’s American Factory.

Other movies featured on Barry’s annual list included The Holdovers, Blackberry, Oppenheimer, American Fiction, Air, Polite Society, Monster, and more.
