The Barceló hotel group has welcomed its first guests to the Occidental Ljubljana, marking its entry into Slovenia’s dynamic hotel scene. The 4-star hotel features 148 rooms and suites, strategically located in the heart of Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana. It’s just a stone’s throw from Tivoli Park, the city’s historic center and Cankarjev Dom, the country’s leading convention and congress center.
Hotel Occidental Ljubljana features a restaurant serving Slovenian cuisine and a street-side bar offering an extensive drinks and snacks menu. It offers three meeting rooms for business travelers.
This expansion into Slovenia is part of the Barceló Hotel Group’s growth strategy in Central Europe. The Group already has nine establishments in Germany, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. It is worth noting that Eurostars Hotel Company made its debut in Slovenia in 2022, making Barceló the second Spanish hotel chain to establish a presence in the country.
The Barceló Hotel Group’s journey in Central Europe began in 1993 with the opening of its first hotel in Prague. Since then, the Group has continued to diversify its portfolio, ensuring that travelers have access to exceptional hospitality experiences in key European destinations.
