To mark the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, the BBC iPlayer will stream all 800 episodes of the iconic sci-fi series. The show, which premiered in 1963, has been a cultural phenomenon for generations of fans.
David Tennant, who previously played the Tenth Doctor, will reprise his role as the Fourteenth Doctor in three special episodes that will air in November and commemorate the show’s remarkable legacy.

The BBC iPlayer will offer an unprecedented opportunity for UK viewers to enjoy almost every episode of Doctor Who since its inception in 1963. Starting from November 1, fans can watch all 800 surviving episodes of the classic sci-fi series, from the First Doctor’s first adventure in “An Unearthly Child” to the Thirteenth Doctor’s farewell in “The Power of the Doctor”.
The iPlayer will also feature spin-offs such as The Sarah Jane Adventures, Torchwood, and Class, as well as behind-the-scenes shows like Doctor Who: Confidential. This is a rare chance for audiences to explore the rich history and legacy of Doctor Who ahead of its 60th anniversary specials.
The BBC has never made the complete classic run of Doctor Who available on the iPlayer, despite using the show as a major attraction for its streaming service.
The classic episodes were previously streamed by Netflix and then by Britbox, along with several Doctor Who-related programs produced for the 50th anniversary, such as the biographical drama An Adventure In Space and Time.
However, as Britbox undergoes a change of ownership and rebranding, the BBC has seized the opportunity to enhance its own service by offering almost every episode of Doctor Who since 1963.
Some Doctor Who entries have been unavailable on streaming due to various disputes involving the BBC and its partners. These include the 1996 TV movie Doctor Who starring Paul McGann, the fourth season of Torchwood, and the behind-the-scenes series Doctor Who: Confidential.

The resolution of these issues will enable fans to access every adventure in space and time on the iPlayer. The iPlayer will also host the classic era and the spin-offs, along with the revival, giving viewers an opportunity to revisit essential classic stories before the 60th anniversary.
Additionally, Doctor Who will stream globally on Disney+ for the 60th anniversary and season 14, which may also include the previous episodes for viewers outside the UK, although this is not confirmed yet.
