Corey Miller Thanks Kim Kardashian For Advocating For Him To Receive A New ‘Day In Court’ Amid His Years-Long Incarceration

Corey “C-Murder” Miller is sharing his gratitude to Kim Kardashian after she recently took to social media to continue her advocacy for his prison release. As The Shade Room previously reported, Miller — also the brother of Master P — was arrested for murder in 2002. He was sentenced to life in prison in 2009.

Kim Kardashian Shares Background On Corey Miller’s Case

On Thursday, Kardashian took to social media to share her knowledge about Miller’s case with her millions of followers. She explained that she “wanted to shed some light on a case” she’s been working on “for years.”

“Corey Miller has spent 21 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, and his conviction is based entirely on the testimony of two men, whom the State dragged to trial just on material witness warrants…”

Kardashian explained that those witnesses have “now sworn that their prior testimony is untrue.” Additionally, she added that “no remaining evidence” suggests that Miller is the suspect behind the 2002 shooting of Steve Thomas.

The 42-year-old then explained that Miller’s case was “mishandled.”

“The lead detective harassed multiple witnesses and mishandled the case to such a degree that the trial court had no choice but to grant Mr. Miller a new trial after he was convicted in 2003.”

Additionally, she explained that at the start of Miller’s new trial in 2009, his lawyer “attempted to withdraw and complained he had not been paid in years.” However, the judge presiding over the case refused the attorney’s request.

Miller ultimately stood trial “with an attorney who made no effort to call favorable witnesses to testify.”

Furthermore, Kardashian explained that the jury only heard the two prior recanted testimonies instead of the “five defense witnesses” who maintained Miller’s innocence.

She explained that the jury returned with a 10-2 verdict, and despite one juror explaining that she voted “guilty under duress,” her response was changed to “guilty.” Then, Miller was convicted.

Corey Miller Thanks Kim K. After She Advocates For Him To Receive A New “Day In Court”

As Kardashian concluded by sharing the background of Miller’s case, she explained that he should receive a new “day in court” due to recently enacted Louisiana legislation.

“Louisiana recently enacted a new law that provides innocent people with the ability to raise a post-conviction claim of factual innocence. Mr. Miller has raised such a claim and, like all of his prior post-conviction filings, has been denied relief without even so much as an evidentiary hearing,” Kardashian explained. “In light of the fact that the only witnesses have completely recanted their testimony, there is absolutely no remaining evidence against Mr. Miller,” she reiterated.

The reality star then ended her words by asking for her followers to join her in advocacy.

“Corey Miller deserves a day in court to test the veracity of the recanted statements and to prove that he did not shoot Steve Thomas. If you agree that Corey Miller deserves his day in court please repost this.”

On Thursday evening, Miller’s official Instagram account showed gratitude for Kardashian’s support.

“It’s been a fight, and long journey for Justice. Thank you @kimkardashian 🙏🏾 and EVERYONE involved over the years (praying, advocating and believing) in my innocence.”

Kim Kardashian’s Previous Advocacy For Corey Miller

As The Shade Room previously reported, this is not the first time Kardashian has shown her support for C-Murder. In 2020, Kardashian took to Twitter to share her sentiments regarding the case.

The jury convicted Corey 10-2 and he was sentenced him to life in prison. If his trial was today, the jury would have had to be unanimous for him to be convicted.

True justice for the young man requires that the person who actually killed him be held responsible and that Corey Miller he returned home to his kids.

My heart goes out to the family of Steve Thomas. I can only imagine how hard this is and my intention is never to open up this painful wound but to help find the truth behind this tragedy.
