Graham is set to build a 661-bed student accommodation block in Nottingham.
The contractor has secured a £70m design-and-build deal from developer Bricks Group for the redevelopment of the Bendigo Building in the East Midlands city.
The project will see Graham construct a V-shaped block containing a range of apartments from studios to those with six ensuite bedrooms.
Amenities will include a multi-media and games lounge, a gym, outdoor seating areas, car parking and cycle storage. The scheme will also feature two ground-floor commercial units.
Accommodation provider True Student, which is owned by Bricks Group, will operate the building, which will be less than half a mile from Nottingham Trent University and the city’s rail station.
Graham regional director Ronan Hughes said: “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Bricks Group to deliver this development that represents a significant investment in student accommodation, contributing to the growth and vibrancy of Nottingham.”
Bricks chief executive Pete Prickett said: “It’s great to be introducing True Student to guests in Nottingham. Really excited to extend our strong relationship with Graham after our first successful project together in Salford.”
True Student managing director Ben Morley added: “We are thrilled to be extending our True Student brand to Nottingham, an incredible city of invention and innovation from ibuprofen, tarmac, the traffic light, HP sauce, the video-tape recorder and MRI scanner to name just a few.”
Originally built in the late 1960s, the Bendigo Building served as a Royal Mail sorting office but has been vacant for almost two decades.
Graham last year secured a £20m role in the development of Lincoln’s Western Growth Corridor.
