In the latest edition of PlayStation’s State of Play, Arrowhead Game Studios teased fans with a shot of the highly anticipated EXO-44 walker exo-suit in a new trailer. However, when the image popped up, the only information presented was that it would come soon after launch. That means we don’t know exactly when the new mech will be added to the game.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about vehicles as Arrowhead did not mention anything about it so far. The original Helldivers featured an armored personnel carrier, heavy assault vehicle, motorcycle, and tank destroyer. Hence, the absence of these vehicles in the latest entry of the franchise is sorely missed. We are hopeful that the devs of the game are paying close attention to what fans are asking for and will soon deliver a new content update.

The vehicles and mechs in the original Helldivers came packaged as part of a paid DLC for the game. We would like to think that Arrowhead learned their lesson and won’t put key game items like that behind a paywall. So far, they have only locked a few cosmetic items behind a battle pass. But other than that, everything else in the game can be earned just by playing it. A good trade-off would be to release the mechs and vehicles as part of a free content update and then sell additional skins so that players can customize them.

Just like the original game, players will likely be able to access the mechs in Helldivers 2 from the Stratagems terminal. Once you have enough credits and reached the required level, you will be able to purchase the mech. Players will then be able to deploy their mech to the battlefield from the Stratagems section of their HUD.
