Ibis Budget, renowned for its focus on energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies, has chosen Vitoria-Gasteiz, a global benchmark for sustainable development, as the location for its latest flagship property – the new ibis budget Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Strategically located with 119 rooms on five floors and a parking lot, the hotel is just 15 minutes from the old town and close to the bus station, Basque government headquarters, Txagorritxu hospital and freeway exit. Four of the rooms are specially designed for guests with functional diversity.
The hotel’s sustainability initiatives align with those of Vitoria-Gasteiz, a pioneer in Europe for decarbonization projects, energy efficiency, the use of renewable energies, sustainable mobility, waste management and the conservation of green spaces and biodiversity since the turn of the century.
The hotel boasts an A-level energy rating, with prefabricated façade insulation and windows designed to avoid transitions between heat and cold. It is equipped with photovoltaic panels, an aerothermal system, a ventilation system with heat/cold recovery and entry doors with presence control.
