Political journalist Jule Kelly appeared on Human Events Daily with Jack Posobiec Tuesday to discuss the aftermath of the United States Supreme Court’s decision to reverse the ruling to keep Donald Trump off of the Colorado ballot.
Kelly said “everyone knew that this would be an overwhelming if not unanimous, which was opinion to reverse and overturn the Colorado Supreme Court ruling.”
The decision applied to all states across the US and not just Colorado. As Kelly said, states cannot just “cherry pick out sections of the Constitution that have not been codified by law by Congress” to fulfill an agenda.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett, however, cast a condescending attitude over the response to the ruling when she released a conflicting written opinion that essentially stated “we need to turn down the temperature of the political climate, not turn it up.”
“Sorry, we’re not your children, just do your job,” Kelly said. “Don’t worry about our emotional state.”
Posobiec agreed that “the statement from [Barrett] saying we need to tone down the temperature, that’s not the job of a Supreme Court justice. The job of a Supreme Court justice is to judge the constitutionality of the cases to mediate cases between states.”
“This is what’s delineated in terms of the power of a Supreme Court justice,” he continued. “It’s it’s not their job to be the mothers of society. It’s quite literally a job where we’re not concerned with the feelings that might come out whether or not the decision goes one way or the other. I certainly don’t remember her saying anything about this when she voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, or she ruled on this last year.”
