“I never thought about my ears. And then for like five years, I never wore an updo.”

Back in 2018, Kylie detailed feeling self-conscious about her ears for years — though didn’t elaborate on where this insecurity stemmed from.

Sitting down with Vogue Australia six months after the birth of her first child, Stormi Webster, Kylie was asked how having a daughter had impacted her views on beauty.

“I feel like having a daughter, and thinking about beauty in the future, has definitely changed me, and I feel like it has made me love myself more and accept everything about me,” she told her sister Kendall, who was interviewing her.

“Even my ears, I always felt like they stuck out too far, and she [Stormi] has the same ears as me and so now I love my ears,” she shared.

“It’s just having a different outlook on life so I can pass that on to her,” she went on. “I want to be an example for her. What kind of example would I be if she said she didn’t like her ears, and then I didn’t like them either? I just want to teach her that. I’m trying to love myself more.”

Well now, five years later, Kylie has opened up further about how she began feeling insecure over her ears after her sisters Khloé and Kourtney repeatedly commented on them and called her nicknames like “Dopey” — a reference to the dwarf of the same name from Disney’s Snow White, who famously has huge ears.

In this week’s installment of The Kardashians, Kylie candidly discusses society’s restrictive beauty standards with Khloé and Kourtney, before turning their attention towards their past comments about her ears.

At first, when Kylie mentions that the pair would talk about her ears all the time, Kourtney looks confused and questions, “Really?” Khloé, on the other hand, immediately recalls her past comments, and argues that she’d constantly speak about Kylie’s ears because she loved them.

Kylie replies, “I didn’t receive it like that. I received it as, like, everyone’s making fun of my ears, calling me Dopey.”

Once again, Kourt questions her involvement, asking: “Did I?” In response, Kylie notes that “everyone” pulled on her ears and made comments about them, before mimicking, “Oh you little Dopey!”

Kourtney then appears to remember the past remarks, noting that this occurred when Kylie was “a little kid.” But in response, Kylie makes it clear that she felt insecure for years as a result of the mockery.

“That fucked me up,” she tells her sisters, to which Kourt replies, “Yeah, you never think about it.”

Then, Kylie reveals that she went so far as to avoid wearing her hair up for five years because she didn’t want her ears on show. “I never thought about my ears. And then for like five years, I never wore an updo,” she said.

However, as she has previously acknowledged, things changed for Kylie after she gave birth to her daughter Stormi.

“And then I had Stormi, and she has my ears. And it made me realize how much I love them,” she said, adding that she sees the little girl as “the most beautiful thing ever.”

“Now I wear an updo every carpet,” Kylie added.

Interestingly, Kylie recently opened up further about feeling a newfound love for some of her natural features after seeing them in her daughter Stormi and son Aire, who is 1.

A few months ago, in April, Kylie told HommeGirls magazine, “I see my features in my daughter and my son now, but you know, my daughter looks like me. I get to see my beauty in her, and it’s made me love myself more for sure. Beauty is always changing for me.”

Going on to share a sweet word of advice that she’d give Stormi, Kylie said, “She’s perfect the way that she is. Be confident, always be confident in yourself.”
