Aug. 4 (UPI) — Halle Bailey is making her solo debut.

The 23-year-old singer and actress released her debut solo single, “Angel,” on Friday.

In the song, Bailey celebrates her success and dismisses her haters and other troubles.

“I’m a big deal / I get sick and tired of holdin’ it in / Rich blood / You can probably see the gold in my skin / I’m more than a girl / Won’t let the troubles of the world / Come weigh me down,” she sings.

Bailey also released a music video for the song, featuring heavenly imagery and home movie footage of herself as a child.

Bailey came to fame as part of the music duo Chloe x Halle with her sister Chloe Bailey.

While “Angel” marks her formal solo debut, Bailey previously recorded “Part of Your World” and other songs for her film The Little Mermaid. The singer and actress starred as Ariel in the live-action Disney remake, which opened in theaters in May.

As an actress, Bailey will next star in The Color Purple, a new film based on the stage musical and Alice Walker novel. The movie opens in December.

Chloe Bailey released her debut solo album, In Pieces, in March.
