PPL Giving pledges an annual $1.3 million to British music organizations, with 26 recipients this year already benefitting.

Now in its 90th year, UK-based music licensing organization PPL has announced its continued pledge to give back to its local music community with the launch of PPL Giving, an annual £1 million ($1.3 million) “purpose-driven strategy” to help build a sustainable music industry for future generations.

With this program, PPL seeks to fund initiatives which help promote equality of opportunity, help facilitate the company’s reach into a wide range of genres, and those which cover a board geographic spread across the UK reflecting PPL membership. That includes organizations driving positive change across the music industry through musical education, talent development, career support, and artist welfare.

By championing education initiatives, the development of performers and helping musicians’ welfare, we hope to play our part in future-proofing the UK music industry for years to come,” said Peter Leathem OBE, CEO of PPL.

Since 2000, PPL has cumulatively given £7.2 million to dozens of organizations across the UK who work hard to make the music industry a more equitable and sustainable place in which to take part. PPL Giving builds on the company’s existing support for a wide range of music organizations, including the PRS Foundation, which incorporates the PPL Momentum Music Fund, the International Showcase Fund, and the Talent Development Network.
