Sexyy Red is set to be featured in the soundtrack of season 2 of Issa Rae’s series, Rap Sh!t. Her new song, “No Panties,” scheduled to release on September 27, will make its way to the soundtrack.
Issa Rae’s media company, Hoorae Media, announced on their official Instagram account, stating:
“Sorry, we kept this from ya’ll. We’ve had this on repeat and soon you can too! ‘No Panties’ by @sexyyred is out on 9/27/ #RapShitTheMIxtape is coming soon.”
Rap Sh!t is set to premiere its second season on November 9 on HBO’s ‘MAX’ platform. The series, created by Issa Rae, centers around two female Miami-based rappers, portrayed by Aida Osman and KaMillion, trying to make it in the music industry.
Fans have mixed reactions to the news of the “Pound Town” rapper’s feature on Rap Sh!t.
While one fan criticized the selection, stating, “She’s not the best representation for black women. We are more than hypersexual nasty ratchet lyrics,” another fan defended Sexyy Red, writing “Not ya’ll glorifying the 10,000 male hood appropriating rappers, but condemning Sexyy Red.”
However, the emergence of the St.Louis native is evident. Sexyy Redd is a rising female rapper who has made waves in the music industry. She recently joined Drake and 21 Savage on the Life Is A Blur Tour as an opening act.
Issa Rae, known for her roles as a comedian, director, and actress, has been involved in various projects, including her hit series Insecure. She is featured in an animated series titled Young Love with rapper Kid Cudi, which premiered on HBO’s ‘Max’ on September 21.
