Steam Deck Weekly: Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Gets Verified, New Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gameplay, New Game Sales, and More

Welcome to the first Steam Deck Weekly of 2024 following the one I did before the holiday break covering Custom Mech Wars, Tekken 8’s demo, and more on Steam Deck. This month is quite busy towards the end with new game releases on Steam and other platforms, and there have been quite a few notable Steam Deck Verified games in the last few weeks. Ahead of the busy review season beginning, we also have quite a bit of new gameplay for many of the games I’m looking forward to playing on Steam Deck in the coming months. Let’s get into it all now.

News

Before getting into the game trailers, Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s upcoming massive RPG Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has been Steam Deck Verified ahead of its launch on January 26th worldwide on Steam and all current consoles. I’ve been playing it for review, but the image above is from Like a Dragon Gaiden’s special demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth which ran great on Deck. Sega released a new Welcome to Paradise trailer for the game featuring comedian Druski. Watch it below:

Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo announced Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Complete Edition for all platforms. The masocore action game package releases digitally worldwide on February 7th bringing the base game and all paid DLC together in a single package. This release will also include a new DLC that reveals the flag positions on the map. I’ve been playing the new DLC recently, and will be reviewing the complete edition and the DLC soon. February 7th will also see a PC-exclusive demo for the complete edition release letting players try out two stages of the game with save data carrying over to the full release.

Capcom has been showcasing more Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay recently with two new videos that look excellent. I really hope this one runs well on Steam Deck when it launches in March. The first video is a look at the Trickster vocation. This one looks really interesting as a support style class with how it fools enemies into jumping off cliffs and more. Watch it below:

Capcom also showcases (through IGN First) the Sphinx, a unique monster in the game, which the developers say most players might not even see while playing the game. After this video, I definitely will try and find the Sphinx while playing when I get the game. Watch this video below:

Bitwave Games has announced its third set of Toaplan shmups for Steam (and GOG) with the Toaplan Arcade Shoot ‘Em Up Collection Vol 2 featuring Batsugun (also available through City Connection’s release), Tiger Heli (available through M2 ShotTriggers on consoles), Vimana, and FixEight. I haven’t played the last two, but will definitely be grabbing this collection to play on Steam Deck. I liked both prior collections despite the few issues I have with them. Watch the trailer for this release below:

Atlus had a few notable announcements since the last edition of the Steam Deck Weekly. These include new trailers for Persona 3 Reload focusing on the voice cast, and also revealing the new opening movie. I was skeptical about this since the original opening movie is legendary, but I’ve grown to like this one a lot. Watch it below:

Taito and M2 pushed out an update for the awesome G-Darius HD and Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade on Steam to make the games all work perfectly on Steam Deck once again. There was an OS update that caused some issues, but the games are now working fine again. These two releases were fixed after Ray’z Arcade Chronology got fixed.

Square Enix revealed the full Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail trailer and announced that Patch 6.55 for the game will hit Steam, PC, macOS, and PlayStation platforms on January 16th as the second part of Patch 6.5. Dawntrail brings a plethora of improvements and new content to Final Fantasy XIV including the Pictomancer job, the female Hrothgar race option, the new Solution Nine city, the Arcadion raid series, and more. Watch the trailer for the expansion and more below:

Steam has officially added the boomer shooter tag. This is great to see given the sheer amount of amazing games in the subgenre releasing lately. If you’ve not read my lengthy boomer shooter article, make sure to check it out here and grab some amazing games.

It looks like we might be one step closer to getting official No Man’s Sky LEGO thanks to a new LEGO Ideas project that is now in review. Check out the full page for the project here. I’ll definitely buy this if it does get released.
