Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for February 9th, 2024. Another week is winding down, and we have a surprisingly large number of new games to account for. Not a great bunch overall, but lots of affordable choices that will give you a decent value. Before we go into those, our pal Mikhail’s got some news for us. What will it be? I’m so excited. He’ll take his turn on the mic, then I’ll take you through the new releases and sales, in our usual manner. Let’s go!

Library of Ruina Gets New Console Gameplay Trailer
Arc System Works America and Project Moon debuted new gameplay for one of my most anticipated console ports in a while, Library of Ruina. I love deckbuilders and story-focused games, and this combines them both. A friend of mine pestered me into looking into it on Steam, but it got announced for consoles and is out this spring for Switch and PlayStation. The new trailer has console gameplay and a taste of the new Japanese voiceover being added to this new version.
New Releases
Prisonela DX ($4.99)
This precision platformer focuses on tight challenges in tiny levels, all served up in a randomized order so you never know which challenge is coming next. You only get one shot at each level, because if you die you’ll start again on another randomly chosen one. Good? Bad? Just one of today’s many affordable choices, I suppose.
Jubilee ($9.99)
A precision platformer starring a hero who has been imprisoned for not paying a debt. Run and jump your way to freedom, collect some gems, rescue some animals, then do it again with another character. Nothing too fancy or innovative here, but it’s well-made for what it is.
Deathly Dangerous ($4.99)
Play as a nameless hero with a scythe and two pistols as he embarks on a quest to defeat bad guys, or something. This is a twin-stick action game with roguelite elements, as is the style these days, and it’s about as straightforward a take as it gets. Battle your way through the enemies to clear each stage. I mean, that’s obviously Death. You’re not fooling anyone, “nameless hero”!
.T.E.S.T: Expected Behavior ($7.99)
A first-person puzzle-action game where you need to use your abilities to manipulate time in order to solve the problems put in front of you. Clearly one of those games inspired by Portal, and regrettably another one that just isn’t all that good. It’s just too difficult to control, and you can tell it was originally designed for a PC interface. If you can get a handle on it, you have more than one hundred levels to look forward to.
MazM: Pechka ($14.99)
This one’s a little different from the previous MazM games in that it doesn’t adapt a work of literature. Rather, it’s set in 1908 Vladivostok following the Russo-Japanese War. You’ll get a first-row seat to the Korean Independence Movement, or at least part of it, with all the historical figures you would expect to see popping in and out of the tale. Your choices and actions will determine which of the game’s endings you get, largely coming down to the fate of fictional protagonist Pyotr.
Exiled ($4.99)
This is a compact puzzle game, similar to things like The Room or The House of Da Vinci. You need to use the clues found in a book left behind by someone named Charlotte to translate a mysterious language and figure out the bizarre circumstances you’ve found yourself in. Might scratch an itch, if you have one that needs scratching.
Just Find It Collector’s Edition ($9.99)
Search for the hidden objects… in visually busy pictures!
Nature Escapes 3 Collector’s Edition ($14.99)
Search for the hidden objects… in nature! Again!
First Time In Hawaii Collector’s Edition ($11.99)
Search for the hidden objects… in Hawaii!
Big Adventure: Trip to Europe 5 Collector’s Edition ($14.99)
Search for the hidden objects… in Europe!
The Nom ($4.99)
Another one of those modestly budgeted games from QubicGames. It’s a level-based overhead stealth action game where you play as someone who has been turned into a monster. You seek the doctor who did this to you so that you can change back. You’re going to do a lot of naughty things along the way, but that’s okay because you’re a monster.
Golfinite ($12.99)
From the name you might be expecting something like Desert Golfing, but no, this is just a pretty normal overhead golfing game. Four different locations, some upgrades to buy, single player only. Like with other Red.Deer games, this will get an extremely deep discount almost immediately. Don’t pay the full price. That said, if you like golfing games this one is decent.
The Bin Bunch
Forklift Simulator 2024 ($12.99)
Football Simulator 2024 ($9.99)
Croc’s World 4 ($4.99)
Borzoi Adventure ($3.99)
Drone Delivery Simulator ($6.99)
Special Forces Assault: Tactical Hostage Rainbow ($11.99)
Galactic Wars: Defend Your Star Worlds ($9.99)
Truck Simulator USA Revolution ($17.99)
Sales
(North American eShop, US Prices)
A pretty hefty list today, befitting a Friday. Good games like Brotato, Hades, 30XX, Final Vendetta, and more are on sale, so you’ll want to have a good look through that inbox and see what’s happening. To balance that, the outbox is teeny-tiny. So small. Nothing really to worry about there. So if the first list seems long, just mash them together and divide by two or something. It’s math! Everyone loves math!
