‘Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari’ Season 3 Reveals Additional Cast, Theme Songs

The official website of the Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero) anime series announced on Tuesday additional cast, key visual (pictured), and theme songs for the third season. The new season is scheduled to premiere in October 2023.

MADKID (Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau) is returning to perform the opening theme “SIN.” Chiai Fujikawa (Munou na Nana) also returns to perform the ending theme “Suki ni Natte wa Ikenai Riyuu.”

Hitoshi Haga (Made in Abyss assistant director) is directing the third season at Kinema Citrus. Scriptwriter Keigo Koyanagi (Sirius), character designer Masahiro Suwa (Hitsugi no Chaika), and music composer Kevin Penkin (Kami no Tou) are returning from the previous seasons.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari adapts Yusagi Aneko’s adventure fantasy light novel of the same title, which originally launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2012. Kadokawa began printing the novel with illustrations by Seira Minami the following August. The 22nd and final volume was released in June 2019.

One Peace Book licensed the light novel in English and shipped the final volume in December 2021.
