The International 2024 qualifiers are coming, and Valve just dropped details on the grandest DOTA 2 tournament of the year.
Valve has released the official dates for this year’s The International qualifiers. The American developer has also announced the teams invited to participate directly in the event.
The International is the world’s largest annual esports DOTA 2 tournament. The pro-play derby has run since 2011, and features an enormous prize pool and intense 5v5 action among the best DOTA 2 players worldwide.
Here’s everything you need to know about The International 2024, participating teams and the tournament structure.
When Is The International 2024?
The International 2024 will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The annual DOTA 2 championship will run from September 4 to 14, culminating in the Playoffs stage at the Royal Arena.
Group Stage: September 4-5
Playoffs: September 6-10, 13-15

The International 2024 Format
The International 2024 Qualifiers will use a double-bracket elimination structure with an upper and lower bracket. Teams will fight a best-of-three (or BO3) match until the last two teams left standing play in a BO5.
After qualifiers, teams will enter Groups which they’ll play in a Round Robin BO2 format. The top eight teams from each Group advance to the Main Event.
The Main Event will be another double-bracket elimination. The top four teams from groups play in the upper brackets while the bottom four teams go to the lower brackets. Teams will fight BO3 games until the two teams left standing play in a Grand Final BO5
