Local restaurateur to open full-service neighborhood eatery in Carolina Forest
Houston, TX (RestaurantNews.com) As one of the most visited destinations in the U.S., Myrtle Beach would seem to have it all – but there’s one thing missing. Thankfully, The Toasted Yolk Café is opening a new location this winter, bringing its one-of-a-kind breakfast, brunch and lunch experience to “The Grand Strand.”
With the Toasted Yolk’s unique combination of farm-to-table breakfast, boozy brunch and lunch, guests will be able to enjoy reimagined interpretations of traditional breakfast and lunch classics accompanied by a full bar.
Located at 1004 Glenforest Road, just off U.S. 501 in the Carolina Forest area, the new restaurant will be operated by local business owners Adam and Sarah Thornton, along with their friend Alex Ibanescu. As the former Director of Operations for Johnny Rockets and current owner of Extreme Pizza at Broadway at the Beach, Adam Thornton brings more than 20 years of restaurant experience.
“I came here to attend Coastal Carolina University in 1997 and never left,” said Thornton. “We’re so excited to bring The Toasted Yolk experience – with its amazing, made-from-scratch menu – to the place that I love. It’s a great brand, a terrific combination of quality and quantity, and will also serve as the perfect location for hosting evening catering events with ‘Toasted After Dark.’”
The cafe is now hiring, and applications are accepted in person at Extreme Pizza Myrtle Beach while the Toasted Yolk building is under construction. Positions available include cooks, dishwashers, hosts, bussers, Servers and Bartenders. The cafe will bring about 50 new jobs to the area.
With fan favorites like its famous Churro Donuts, Cowboy Scramble, West Coast Arnold and Shrimp and Grits, the chef-driven menu at The Toasted Yolk Cafe is unmatched in quality and freshness. Of course, it’s never too early to get toasted®. Guests can enjoy a full bar with everything from classic mimosas, frozen Bellinis and Bloody Marys to Rise ‘N’ Shine Punch and Jackie’s Morning Rita.
For lunch, guests can try the plate-filling Club Sandwich with Junkyard Fries, Brisket Tacos or the Yolk Burger. Specials are available regularly, including Toasted Tuesdays with $5 Jackie’s Morning Ritas and Breakfast Shots all day, and Happy Hour every Friday with half-off Mimosas. Ready to get the whole party toasted? Toasted Yolk offers a wide array of catering options for any size event and occasion and makes it easy to place your pick-up or delivery order with direct quote requests on their website.
The new Toasted York is near the Tanger Outlets Myrtle Beach Highway 501, about five miles down U.S. 501 from the Coastal Carolina University campus. Its operating hours will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
