A champion as old as time itself. Zyra is one of the historical champions still around in League of Legends today, more than ten years after her release. Zyra dates back to some of the earlier League of Legends World Championships, where the famous Ashe + Zyra bottom lane ruled the day. Zyra is still a very strong support champion and is currently A tier on the Mobalytics support tier list. So the question is, how do you stop Zyra in League of Legends? Sona
Sona is back at the top of the support mountain in League of Legends. She is once again one of the strongest champions you can play in the role and is a great counter to Zyra. In the early stages of the game, you will have to help your ADC get through the lane as Zyra’s damage output can be quite annoying. Once you have level six, you will be able to punish her immobility. It is a guaranteed kill if you can get your jungler involved.
Taric
Like Sona, Taric can punish the immobility of Zyra with his stun. On top of that, Taric can often heal up his partner and shield them whenever Zyra looks to inflict damage. With how your stun works, you’ll be able to take the brunt of her E and let your ADC do the damage to a stunned target. Once you have ultimate, do not be scared of her, you will be able to keep your ADC alive and healthy.
Yuumi
Yuumi is starting to rise in popularity again in League of Legends, whether that is a good or bad thing remains to be seen. The key in this match up is not to attempt to poke the ADC down, but rather Zyra. This will make her think twice about walking forward to try and stun you. Make sure your ADC has picked a mobile champ since Yuumi will not offer any lane pressure, so expect to be pushed back under your own tower.
