Assassin’s Creed Mirage has garnered quite a fanfare, and the players’ voice is heard loud and clear – they want more Assassin’s Creed titles that are more like earlier titles of Brotherhood, Revelations, and AC: II.
Ubisoft Bordeaux announced that they will release a New Game+ mode on Assassin’s Creed Mirage as a free update in December. For the veterans and experts, a more gruesome and brutal “Permadeath” mode will be available across all difficulties.

The lack of New Game Plus mode in the original Assassin’s Creed Mirage had shocked fans, and now the developers have heard the voice of the fans and decided to include it as a free update.
A veil shrouds the added permadeath mode, but the developers have promised to clarify it later. However, one thing is clear – permadeath can be enabled across all difficulties.
It is expected to be something similar to permadeath in another contemporary title, Diablo IV, where dying in-game means the game ends with no retries.
This will give a more realistic feel and challenge the players to go that extra mile. It will also force them to rely on stealth, strictly how the game was meant to be played.
With recent reports that Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s player count fell by 68% in the first month of launch, the new game plus mode will make the title more replayable.
Ubisoft Bordeaux seems to be a developing studio that listens closely to player reviews and feedback and works on it, which is great to see for a AAA title.
It will be interesting to see if including New Game+ mode brings the old players back to try their hands at the game again, possibly with permadeath enabled, which promises to be a challenging but rewarding experience.
