Duane “Keffe D” Davis is reportedly under arrest in connection to the killing of Tupac Shakur. Las Vegas police arrested him on Friday — 27 years after the hip hop artist was shot and killed on the city’s Strip.
AP broke the news, citing “two officials with first-hand knowledge of the arrest,” who are not authorized to speak publicly. Davis reportedly has an indictment scheduled for Friday.

Duane “Keffe D” Davis Has Previously Admitted To Being Involved In Shooting
According to the outlet, Davis’ connection to Tupac Shakur’s death is well-documented. He reportedly refers to himself as “one of the last living witnesses” to the shooting of Tupac Shakur.
In the “Compton Street Legend” memoir, Duane admitted he told federal and local investigators in 2010 that he witnessed the killing and provided the gun. He claimed he was seated in the passenger seat while his nephew Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson was in the back seat with DeAndre “Dre Smith.” Terrence “T-Brown” Brown was allegedly the driver of the Cadillac.
AP reports that Anderson denied Duane’s claims and was shot to death two years later. His memoir came out in 2019, but in 2018, he also admitted to being in the Cadillac in a BET interview.
Tupac Shakur died in the hospital a week after he was shot in a drive-by shooting on Sept. 7, 1996. Pac was seated in the passenger side of a BMW driven by Suge Knight. Tupac and Knight were at a stop light when the gunshots were fired from the Cadillac.
Radar Online reports that Duane Davis has made at least five public confessions about his connection to Tupac’s death.
“It’s those events that have given Las Vegas the ammunition and the leverage to move forward,” retired Los Angeles detective Greg Kading told AP. “Prior to Keefe D’s public declarations, the cases were unprosecutable as they stood. He put himself squarely in the middle of the conspiracy. He had acquired the gun, he has given the gun to the shooter, and he has been present in the vehicle when they hunted down and located both Tupac and Sug (Knight).”
The arrest comes after Las Vegas police searched Duane’s wife’s home on July 17. Documents show officials collected computers, a cell phone, a hard drive, Vibe magazine featuring Tupac Shakur, multiple .40-caliber bullets, two tubs of photos, and a copy of Duane’s memoir.
