Tia Mowry Shares Words Of Encouragement For Other Women

The 45-year-old actor appeared as a guest on a recent episode of ‘Chris GQ Perry TV.’ The episode was published on Friday, September 15. During a portion of the sitdown, the actor shared advice for women “struggling” to leave a “toxic” relationship.

Mowry began by explaining that she would tell those women to first “focus on self-love.”

“Number one, focus on self-love,” she said. “Meaning, really look deep into yourself. And really get to know yourself — understand yourself, and a lot of that happens in some sort of isolation.”

The actor explained that isolation could include meditation, journaling, and “just spending time with yourself.”

“The reason why I say that is because many of the time, the reason that I feel women don’t have the courage to get out of a toxic relationship is because they don’t love themselves — they love that person more than they love themselves.”

Mowry explained that when you “truly love” yourself, you “start to understand self-worth, self-value, and what it is that you deserve.”

“And when you are so disconnected from yourself, it is very hard for you to look at yourself as if you’re deserving of something better,” she continued. “But when you really go on this journey of true self-love and tapping into you, and only you. You’ll start to get the courage and the strength to do what it is you need to do.”

A Brief Recap Of Tia Mowry & Cory Hardrict’s Divorce And The Actor’s Steps Foward Since Then

Then, in June, Mowry further detailed what prompted the decision to split from her husband after fourteen years, as per The Shade Room.

“I love being a wife. But I am understanding that tradition could be a blessing and a curse. What I mean by that is tradition warrants for no change, whereas change is constant,” she explained during an interview with HelloBeautiful. “That woke me up. I asked myself, ‘Tia, are you happy?’ And I said, I truly need to find my peace and my happiness.”

The actor explained that she began going to therapy, and throughout her journey, she experienced an “aha moment.”

“The pivotal moment where I was like, you know what? It’s time to really start living your truth.”

Transparently, Mowry explained that despite coming to the realization, it took her five years before she ultimately decided to file for a divorce. Today, the actor is back on the dating scene, candidly sharing her journey with her fans.
