Sgt Winter is back and he has a nice present for those looking for him. If you’re wondering where is Sgt Winter in Fortnite 2023, here’s what you should know.
First appearing in the Season 7 Battle Pass, Sgt Winter has finally made his way back into Fortnite in this festive season. As one of the OG characters, a lot of players are excited to meet him, especially since he’s tied to a few quests that players can complete to earn XP and other rewards.
That said, unlike most NPCs, he is located somewhere a bit more isolated on the map. In fact, he’s chilling in a new POI, which just makes it even harder to find him, especially for new or returning players who have yet to unlock the whole map. The NPC, Sgt Winter can be found in Winterburg, a small island located at the top of the game’s map. He can be seen wandering around the center of the island, near a Reboot Van. For more details, you can check out the image above that has been marked to help you find him.

We recommend that you go straight to this location the moment you jump off the Battle Bus. Given that some quests require interacting with him, many would be racing to get to this area as soon as possible. There are also some chests available in the POI, so it’s definitely not a bad place to start looting.
How to Collect an Item Inside a Present in Fortnite

Upon approaching him for the first time in a match, he will immediately throw a large present. You can then use your pickaxe to destroy the present and collect the items inside to finish the “Collect an item inside a present thrown by Sgt. Winter” quest. This will reward you with 15,000 XP.

How to Emote with Holiday Boxy or Sgt Winter in Fortnite

Emoting with Holiday Boxy or Sgt Winter is also part of the seasonal quests you can complete. All you need to do is locate them and use any of your emotes near them.
For Holiday Boxy, you’ll want to land at the Ship It! Station, just east of Pleasant Piazza. Meanwhile, Sgt Winter can be found in Winterburg, the same location mentioned above.
Once you’ve emoted with them, you’ll complete the “Emote with Holiday Boxy or Sgt. Winter” quest and receive 15,000 XP.
