3 signs Charles and Camilla are still deeply in love as they share touching new photo
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Following the news that King Charles is shortly returning to public-facing duties after a period of treatment for his cancer diagnosis, his majesty and Queen Camilla have released a touching photo.

In the newly-released image, the couple – who tied the knot in 2005 – appear in high spirits and look relaxed as they beam from ear to ear. But one thing that’s uncanny is just how similar it is to their iconic wedding picture.

On their special day 19 years ago, Charles wore a morning suit with a silver-grey waistcoat and grey striped trousers, while Camilla looked elegant in a cream silk outfit by Anna Valentine and a Philip Treacy hat. And their new picture released today (April 26) pays homage and resemblance to their unwavering devotion to one another.

In addition to the photograph, Charles and Camilla help mark this milestone in regards to his help with a joint visit to a cancer treatment centre next Tuesday (April 30), where they will meet medical specialists and patients. This visit will be the first in a number of external engagements Charles will undertake in the weeks ahead.

An official statement read: “As the first anniversary of The Coronation approaches, Their Majesties remain deeply grateful for the many kindnesses and good wishes they have received from around the world throughout the joys and challenges of the past year.”

Let’s take a look at three tell-tale signs from the stunning photograph that show Charles and Camilla are still deeply in love…

Matching items

On Charles and Camilla’s wedding day, Charles donned a metallic-coloured tie to match Camilla’s dress. Now, as he makes another important announcement, the King has opted for a blue in a shade to match his wife’s attire, signalling their close bond.

Smiling at Camilla

Similarly when they announced their marriage, Charles’ official return to work photograph shows him turning towards Camilla instead of the camera.

On their wedding day, Charles’ speech was packed with emotion. He said: “My darling Camilla, I can’t believe that you married me. She has stood with me through thick and thin and her optimism and humour have seen me through” – and it’s clear to see today that the sentiment still stands.

Embracing each other

Standing side by side in both photographs, Charles and Camilla make their love for one another clear. On both momentous occasions, the couple have opted to link arms and lean into one another, showing that still, after all these years, they are incredibly tactile and affectionate with one another.
