A Place In The Sun’s Lee Juggurnauth swears latest venture will ‘be the death of him’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A Place In The Sun star Lee Juggurnauth has shared a look inside the gruelling workout routine he follows to maintain his buff physique. The TV presenter, who joined the Channel 4 property programme back in 2021, shared a video on social media as he tried out a new exercise – reformer Pilates.

The Pilates reformer machine works using cables attached to pulleys and a moving carriage operating on spring resistance. By setting up the carriage with more spring resistance you can create more resistance to work against, making the exercises a strength challenge. The short video, shared on Instagram, included clips of Lee’s instructor critiquing his form as he got to grips with the workout.

When asked how he was getting on with one particular exercise, the TV star responded: “It hurts.” Captioning the video, Lee said: “God loves a trier .. right? This machine will be the death of me . God bless you @imogenleaver for pushing me @clm_pilates.” Lee, 36, had always dreamed of working on TV, but it wasn’t until he turned 30 he began to pursue his dreams.

He has been open about his struggles, even admitting to experiencing the “worst year of his life” when he turned 30, despite hoping it would be the best. He has spoken about becoming a “completely different” person before he reached the milestone age, which proved to be a catalyst for change and saw him even enlist the help of a life coach.

Speaking on The Three podcast with Azalea Reason, he said: “Everything that could have been thrown at me, was thrown at me. I think as a man, as a woman, when you are reaching a certain age – and it was about 29, going through a few things in life – I wasn’t comfortable with who I was and what was going on. It was a rough year. I was a completely different person.”

The property expert then came across Mike, who he described as a “great life coach to men” who are struggling. Lee said: “He was someone I could rely on, I could express myself to, without being judged by friends, family, whatever. He was someone on a completely even playing field, who helped me get my life into perspective.”

Lee’s huge turning point saw him finally pursue his dreams of working in television and he is now one of the presenters on A Place In The Sun – which returns to screens on Friday, 31 May at 3pm. Prior to this, he studied modern languages and business management at college, and even did a law conversion course.

He also worked as an intern at a music company, leaving him counting the likes of Lulu has a pal. In an interview with A Place In The Sun, Lee explained: “I panicked and did a law conversion course for a year but knew deep down it wasn’t me. I became an unpaid intern at a music company and began to work with great people – like Lulu, Take That and Billy [Ocean].”

The star then worked on his other skills, and began doing small TV jobs. He added: “Yes, I had some coaching – on improv, dialect and delivery and some acting lessons. Being behind the camera is not purely an instinctive skill, it has to be learned. My confidence grew after some commercials and small jobs built up the hours behind the camera experience I needed.”
