After the initial heatwave last month it seems we have another one heading our way, and for most of us, we’re still trying to work out what to wear when the temperatures soar.
As much as we would love to be able to spend the heatwave in a bikini in the garden, unfortunately we have places to be and things to do, which means we need some temperature-appropriate clothes that look stunning without sacrificing on comfort.

Enter Marks and Spencer’s latest summer dress that promises to check all your boxes when it comes to dressing for the weather.

The dress can be worn in a straight up and down shape, or tied with the matching belt to cinch in the waist for a flattering silhouette that skims the stomach and hips and accentuates your figure.
The rounded neckline and mid-calf length also makes it a timeless and versatile style, meaning you can bring it out of your wardrobe year after year and simply switch up your styling to change the whole look of the dress.
The M&S website shows how easily it can be worn for day-to-day in the heat by pairing it with an oversized denim jacket and trainers, but a simple swap of your trainers for heels and the denim jacket for a tailored blazer would make it the perfect evening dress.
The cotton column dress comes in either navy or a bright cobalt blue, with the navy offered in sizes 6-24, and the brighter blue shade coming in short, regular and petite lengths in sizes 6-24.

Thanks to the dress’ comfortable and flattering fit, it’s already sold out in some sizes, with the blue dress only available in sizes 10-18 in the regular length, whilst the navy version is sold out in sizes 6, 18, 20 and 22.
The dress has some rave reviews from shoppers who were able to snap it up, with one writing: “Lovely dress, nice with flats or trainers… dress up or down – perfect purchase, have it in 2 colours”, whilst another said: “Good value and looks nice on. Comes up slightly on the big side, but the loose style and belt mean that that doesn’t matter too much.”
