With the drop of Beyoncé’s highly anticipated country album in March, setting the scene for the cowboy core trend this summer it seems everyone, including Ex-Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, is fully embracing the western look this season and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
Get ready to giddyup girls as the high street is awash with double denim looks, fringing, western-inspired boots and well, more denim. If there’s one way to wear it, it’s to double it (if you dare that is) and the Heart Radio presenter just showcased an easy, and thankfully, affordable way to wear the trend.
The star, who has over 700K followers on her Instagram account took to social media this week to showcase a dreamy cream denim co-ord from high street store River Island. The beige button-up denim waistcoat, £35 here and the mid-rise tailored wide-fit jeans, £50 here are the perfect way to embrace the cowboy core trend without looking like you’ve come straight off the ranch.

Ashley kept her double denim look all neutral accessorizing it with Miu Miu’s Wander matelassé-effect shoulder bag and a pair of white court heels. We’ve found a similar pair at River Island for £35 here, which have a reasonable heel height if you struggle to walk in sky-high stilettos.
Unfortunately, the presenter’s waistcoat has limited sizing left online – (you might find it in your nearest store), however, don’t despair, you can still achieve the look as it’s still available in a light wash blue, here and a cream, pinstripe style here. For an alternative look, you could also team with the matching cropped jacket, £55 here.

Whether you want to sport a full-on cowboy-themed look or simply dip your toe into the trend, this is a look that is easy to wear and will flatter your figure. The fitted waistcoat has an adjustable back to nip in your waist, whilst wide-leg trouser styles will skim over hips- hooray, or should we say ‘howdy.’
