There’s nothing better than that freshly blown out look whenever you step out of a salon, but as any haircare lover knows, achieving the same results at home isn’t exactly easy. From tired arms and singed fingers, trying to replicate a bouncy blow dry at home can be something of a minefield – and that’s before you even get onto how damaging constant heat can be on your hair.
Thankfully there are plenty of ways to recreate sleek, voluminous curls at home without a curling wand or round brush in sight – just ask Michelle Keegan and Stacey Solomon. Both celebs have been spotted using the Rehab Silk Heatless Curler, £36 here, for a low maintenance, damage-free alternative to a traditional blow dry.

If you’ve never used a heatless curler before, the premise is simple; you take a padded, flexible silk (or satin) curling rod, and wrap your damp hair around it in sections. Secure it using a couple of silky scrunchies, then take yourself off to bed. The next morning, unravel your hair and reveal effortless, bouncy curls. Simple, right?
Stacey and Michelle’s go-to version contains a heatless curler made from mulberry silk which helps prevent friction from damaging your hair while you sleep. The set also includes a padded curler, two silk scrunchies and a claw clip to keep it all in place while you wrap up your sections.
However, we’ve also found several other versions of the heatless curler that we love, from chunkier curlers that offer bigger curls to more affordable versions that let you try out the technique without the splurge. If you want a bargain whilst you get to grips with the curler, Revolution’s Haircare Curl Enhance Satin Curling Ribbon, £6 here, has the basic tools you need to try out the curling method, with a curler and two scrunchies included in the kit.

When it comes to shopper favourites, the Kitsch Satin Heatless Curling Rod Headband, £12.99 here (was £19.99), is one of Amazon’s best sellers. Racking up more than 5000 five star reviews, the heatless curling set has been praised for being comfortable to sleep in, easy to use and leaving your hair in perfect curls.
If you’ve got extra long or thick hair, you’ll know that not all heatless curlers can handle your voluminous locks. Rather than resigning yourself to loose or lacklustre curls, Kitschs has also brought out an XL Satin Heatless Curling Set, £12 here (was £16), that’s been specially designed to give extra room for longer lengths.
SILKE London 3 Step Routine Bundle is made from 100% silk to give your hair extra protection

For those of you with hair that’s already dry, damaged, or prone to breakage, you can always take your heatless curl routine to the next level with SILKE London 3 Step Routine Bundle, £122 here. Whilst the other sets are made from artificial silk, the Silke set is made from 100% pure silk which helps protect every single strand and completely prevents static or friction.
The set contains a heatless curler and six silk scrunchie hair ties to help secure your hair in multiple places, rather than just at the ends which is ideal for securing those with shorter layers that can fall out when only fastened with two ties at the end. You’ll also get a silky hair wrap to cover your hair while you sleep, preventing friction and moisture absorption to keep your hair hydrated and limit breakage. The whole lot comes in a reusable cosmetics bag that’s great for keeping your kit together or doubling up as a toiletries bag.
Ditch the heat and embrace silky, bouncy and – most importantly – damage-free curls this season. Your hair will thank you.
