Beverley Knight’s green knitted dress from the Chelsea Flower Show is a versatile wardrobe staple

With Chelsea Flower Show is in full swing, we can’t help but admire the stunning colourful blooms and intricate garden designs that are on show at the event, but it’s not just the flowers that have been catching our eye. The celeb attendees have also been serving up some serious summer outfit inspiration this year.

Among the stunning florals and bold prints, Beverley Knight’s green maxi dress caught our eye thanks to both its simplicity and versatility, and we can already tell it’s going to be a great addition to our summer wardrobes. The singer wore Pretty Lavish’s Khloe Knit Maxi Dress, £62 here, for the occasion, and its zesty lime green colour and figure-flattering fit make it the perfect choice for the sunny weather.

You might baulk at the idea of a knitted dress in the hot temperatures, but Beverley’s dress is made from a lightweight, super stretchy fine knit fabric that keeps it airy and comfortable. It also has a halter neckline that fastens at the back and a cut out, open back design that helps keep you cool and bare a little bit of skin whilst still giving plenty of coverage.

The knitted material gives the dress enough weight to hang beautifully, skimming over your figure and flattering your shape. Despite its classic bodycon fit, it doesn’t cling to any lumps or bumps, whilst its maxi length also means it’s a great pick for plenty of summer occasions, from evening wedding receptions to balmy evenings out or Sunday brunch with friends.

You can easily elevate the maxi dress with a pair of strappy stilettos and a clutch for more formal occasions, or take inspiration from Beverley’s style and pair it with some flat sandals and a classic oversized shoulder bag. You can also wear it with some chunky combat boots and a leather jacket in the cooler months, making it versatile enough to wear all year round, reports the Mirror.

Its lime green hue might be trending this season, but if green isn’t your colour you can also pick up the dress in orange, red or blue colourways, all of which are the perfect vibrant choice for the sunny weather.

If you’re after a slightly beachier look, Superdry’s Crochet Halter Maxi Dress, £85 here, comes in a bold kelly green shade and has a similar halter neckline and maxi length. However, instead of the fine knit style of Beverley’s Pretty Lavish dress, it features a more open weave crochet style knit with subtle patterns throughout, making it just as ideal for the beach as it is for evening drinks on holiday.

We know what we’ll be adding to our wardrobes this week!
