As we grow older, more and more of us have been paying greater attention to our skin in the hopes of slowing the passage of time, with plenty of potions, creams and lotions utilised over the years with little effect.
However, help may now be at hand for anyone hoping to banish their wrinkles as one savvy Boots shopper has claimed that a £10 serum, dubbed as a ‘Botox alternative’, has made her look 10 years younger!
The Olay Regenerist 3 Point Anti-Ageing Firming Serum, usually priced at £34 but currently on sale for £10is said to firm saggy skin and reduce wrinkles within a week – and fans of the product are inclined to agree.

One 63 year old shopper gave the product a five-star review, saying: “I have been using Olay Regenerist Serum for years! I’m not sure if it can reduce wrinkles? But using it daily has certainly helped to protect my skin in the ageing process! (I’m now 63, looking a decade younger). Definitely an alternative to Botox, which has worked for me!”
One happy customer shared: “This is a little miracle in a tube. My skin feels renewed, hydrated and firmer. I even had the confidence to go out without makeup on as my complexion looked so glowing. Can’t wait to buy this when it becomes available – well done again Olay for yet another fab edition to your skincare range.”
Another fan said it “tightens saggy eyelids”, writing: “I have been using the anti-ageing serum for a week now and have seen a noticeable difference in my skin. Helps my wrinkles disappear and tightens the saggy eyelids. Love it and will order more.”

A third shopper raved: “I don’t believe in miracles but this product surprised and delighted me in such a short time. Apart from the lovely fragrance, the first noticeable effect was the hydration and softening of my skin.
“This was followed by a clear improvement in skin tone, taking years off, due to the general brightening and lessening of lines. I’m also impressed at how far a little goes- it makes it such a good buy. The way it is absorbed, without greasiness or mess, makes it a joy to apply. You must try it and buy it!”
Despite the rave reviews, it appears it may not be quite right for everyone, as one shopper admitted she found the cream a bit “sticky”, meanwhile one person thought it worked a little too well, as she explained that it made her skin feel “too tight”.
No 7’s Future Renew Serum is also a firm hit with skincare fans

She left a review saying: “The product smells great and certainly does tighten to reduce the appearance of wrinkles but it tightened my (combination) skin a bit too much causing dryness and slight flakiness. I am in the final trimester of pregnancy and fear this may have been a contributing factor…”
Other top picks for keeping skin young include No7’s Future Renew serum, which flew off the shelves as soon as it launched in April. It was so popular that it became Boots’ best-seller for 2023, with the matching day and night creams also being favourites.
Revolution has also brought out a new night serum that people reckon is even better than fancy brands like Estee Lauder, not to mention a fraction of the price, at just £12 a bottle.
