A Gatineau driver has been charged with impaired driving after a car left Highway 416, travelled through a ditch and struck a tree.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police’s Ottawa detachment laid multiple charges against the driver after being called to the single-vehicle collision along Highway 416, near Hunt Club Road, at about 2 a.m. Saturday.

The 31-year-old driver has been charged with operating a vehicle while prohibited by the Criminal Code, impaired driving and obstructing a peace officer, a police statement said.
He was released from custody and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
