Two individuals have been charged in connection with what the Ottawa Police Service said was “hate-motivated vandalism” at a home in Barrhaven earlier in June.
In a news release on Friday, police said a 46-year-old and a 36-year-old, both from Ottawa, had been charged with mischief/damage to property and harassment by threatening conduct.
They are scheduled to appear in court on July 24, the release added.

An online report on June 7 led to the investigation by the hate and bias crime unit into the incident at the home of a South Korean family on Maynooth Court in Barrhaven, police said.
“We continue to encourage anyone who witnesses or experiences such incidents to report them to police. Reporting hate-motivated incidents is an important step in stopping cycles of hatred,” Friday’s police statement said.
