A fictional Coronation Street couple are also married in real life, and soap fans had no idea.
Steven Meo played businessman Rufus Donahue on the ITV show, after he arrived back in February to help Carla Connor with Underworld.
However, things didn’t go as smoothly as he would have hoped – just one month later, Rufus met his end with serial killer Stephen Reid.
Rufus had worked out Stephen’s plan to drug Carla and that led to him becoming Stephen’s third victim.
Months after his death, Rufus’ wife Lou has arrived on the cobbles, and she thinks there is more to her husband’s death.
Lou is being played by Steve’s real wife, Eleanor Howell, with the pair confirming their marriage news on Twitter.

She told her followers: “Well, don’t mind if I do… Delighted to say I’m joining the lovely bunch at Corrie!
“Following in @stevemeo’s footsteps, Catch me as my real-life hubby’s on-screen widow!
“On screen from this Monday… here’s hoping I catch that @todd_boyce.”
Steve then reshared the post as he said: “Hugely proud to announce my super talented wife will be appearing in #Corrie from next week on, as my On-screen grieving widow!! #proudhusband.”

Lou has recently arrived on the cobbles

The couple got engaged in New York in 2010, whilst Steven was performing on Broadway, and they were married in Tetbury in 2012. They have two sons together.
Since arriving on the cobbles, Lou has been in and out of the factory and she has also been to Rufus’ inquest hearing.
The coroner deemed that Rufus’ died by misadventure, but she doesn’t believe it, and she is certain that there is something that she doesn’t know about.
Despite Stephen’s best efforts to get her to accept the decision, Lou is still determined, and she may be about to make a breakthrough as she makes her debut on the soap.
Rufus’ closest family and friends gather at a memorial to remember him, but at times it is all too much for Stephen.

He rushes out on a couple of occasions, and he is spotted by both Carla and Lou as he does so.
When he eventually returns to the memorial, he is left stunned when Lou reveals what was found at the side of the pool where Rufus died.
In the bag of things found at the pool was one of Stephen’s tie pins and he recognises it instantly.
Lou is unaware that the tie pin belongs to Stephen, but she knows that it doesn’t belong to her husband.
With that, she tells Stephen that she is taking the pin to the police to see if they can do anything with it.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
