Based on a novel written by Thomas Mallon, Fellow Travelers follows two men who meet at the height of McCarthyism, and follows their romance over decades, from the ’50s all the way to the ’80s. It’s a political thriller mixed with a historical romance—and it’s heart-wrenchingly good.
While at first that may sound like any other historical romance miniseries out there, the show has notable star power. Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey play the two leads.
