For us here at OK!, nothing signals that summer is in sight quite like a Estée Lauder’s Bronze Goddess hitting the shops. The summery scent immediately transports us back to sunny holidays with its coconutty, vanilla-y notes.
While the original is a well-deserved cult beauty classic, each year Estée Lauder releases a new, limited-edition version – and this year’s might just be one of the best yet.
New to the beauty aisles for 2024 is Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Flora Verde Eau de Parfum, a vibrant, floral take on the classic inspired by the carnival spirit of Rio de Janeiro. A 50ml bottle costs £70 and is available to buy now from retailers such as Sephora, Fenwick and Boots.

In addition to the usual Bronze Goddess notes of vanilla, jasmine and woods, there’s Brazilian gardenia, bergamot and coconut water in this new variation, results in a fresh, floral, green scent that’s still an unmistakably summery scent.
Bronze Goddess Flora Verde may have only just launched but it’s already proven to be a hit with shoppers, judging by the online reviews.
In a review titled ‘Absolutely stunning!’ on the Boots website, one happy customer wrote: “I very rarely write a review, however I got this for Mother’s Day and just had to share how amazing this is…This is absolutely stunning, upon first spraying it you initially are reminded of the eau fresh skin scent but then it deepens into this intense creamy coconut jasmine scent and it is addictive.
“This has to be my favourite perfume I have smelled recently and would easily recommend and say this is by far the best version they have ever done. I truly hope that they keep this one on the shelf as a permanent edition because it is a true gem.”

Another says that they’ll be wearing it all year round, writing: “This fragrance has a lot of the original Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche, the Tiara flower is still the main note but with a beautiful white floral note. This is different enough to have additionally. I think this could be warn all year around.”
If you’re looking for a similarly summery scent, OK! beauty editor Laura Mulley also loved Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk, from £60 for 30ml, which smells of driftwood and salty skin (in a good way).
Sol de Janeiro’s new Cheirose 59, from £24 for 90ml, also gets her sunny scent seal of approval. In fact, OK!’s head of shopping Zoe Cripps has tried out all of Sol de Janeiro’s body mists and these are her favrourites.
