Euphoria star Angus Cloud, best known for playing the show’s kind-hearted drug dealer Fezco “Fez” O’Neill, has died at age 25, according to Variety.
“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” Cloud’s family said in a statement. “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
Playing Fez on Euphoria was Cloud’s breakout role; prior to that, he was a classmate of Zendaya (his Euphoria costar) at Oakland School for the Arts, and was discovered by a casting director for Euphoria in New York City while working as a waiter at a restaurant in Brooklyn.
While details of Cloud’s death aren’t known at the time, his family revealed that he also recently lost his father.
“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” the statement to Variety reads. “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

In addition to his role in Euphoria, Cloud had begun to get other on-screen roles. He’s appeared in music videos for Noah Cyrus, the late Juice WRLD, and a Karol G/Becky G collab, and made his film debut in a 2021 movie called North Hollywood. Another movie he appeared in, The Line, debuted last month at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival but has yet to receive a limited or wide release.
He’ll have at least three posthumous projects released: an untitled Universal Monster film directed by Scream and Scream VI’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, Freaky Tales from Half Nelson and Captain Marvel directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and a smaller film called Your Lucky Day.
It’s unknown how much, if any, filming Cloud did for the forthcoming Season 3 of Euphoria.
