The Red Cross and the Salvation Army were called out to help residents affected by an early-morning fire in Ottawa’s east end on Saturday.
Ottawa Fire Services said they received multiple calls at 2:45 a.m. for a fire in a townhouse on Carsons Road near Den Haag Drive. When they got to the scene, they began a fast attack and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other units. The fire was under control by 3:10 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries. A fire inspector was called to the scene to try to determine the cause.
The fire was in the Carsons Grove-Carsons Meadow neighbourhood, southeast of the intersection of Montreal Road and the Vanier Parkway.
