Ahead of Dussera, fans are enjoying several theatrical releases, including Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Ganapath’. The film directed by Vikas Bahl, released in theatres on October 20. As per early reports, the film opened to low numbers on Day 1. The movie happens to be a dystopian action film and also features Amitabh Bachchan in the key role.
‘GANAPATH’ BOX OFFICE COLLECTION
After much wait, Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Ganapath’ was released in theatres amid festive fervour. Despite all the promotion activities, the film opened to low numbers on Day 1. As per early reports, the action drama earned Rs 2.50 crore in India on its opening day. To note, this will mark Tiger’s lowest opening ever. The film was released alongside Divya Khosla Kumar’s ‘Yaariyan 2’ but fared better than that one. With the festivities all around, the film is expected to pick up pace over the weekend.
The film features Tiger Shroff in the titular role of an “immortal” mercenary in what is being hailed as a futuristic film. Amitabh is in the role of his grandfather. Like Tiger, Kriti Sanon also has several action sequences in the film.
ALL ABOUT ‘GANAPATH’
In this world, Ganapath aka Guddu (Tiger Shroff) is the messiah of the poor who is unaware of his destiny in the first half of the film. Upon learning about his identity, the playboy and flamboyant Guddu transforms into Ganapath, the hero to his people. In his fight, he finds love and a partner in Jassie (Kriti Sanon), who is trained in martial arts and is capable of knocking off a group of strong men. Meanwhile, The film grabbed eyeballs as it marks Tiger Shroff’s second collaboration with Kriti Sanon after their debut film ‘Heropanti’ in 2014.
