Police in Gatineau are requesting public assistance in locating a 14-year-old youth.

Derik Whissell was last seen near 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, leaving a youth centre on chemin Freeman in Gatineau.
A news release issued Friday said police and family members had reason to fear for his safety and security and wanted to ensure his well-being.
Whissell was described as a white male standing about five feet five inches (1.68 metres) tall and weighing about 110 pounds (50 kilograms) with brown hair and brown eyes. He speaks French and might be using public transit.
Anyone believing they’ve seen Whissell was asked to contact the Gatineau Police Service at 819-246-0222.
