India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya expressed his gratitude for having represented his nation during high-octane clashes against Pakistan. He found himself fortunate to not just have been part of, but rather done well against Pakistan over the years. The 2 teams gear up to face each other in a much-anticipated encounter on June 9 in Group A of the T20 World Cup 2024 match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York on June 9, Saturday.
Hardik, while speaking to Star Sports, reflected on the feeling of playing against arch-rivals Pakistan and also asked the fans to be prepared as history would be in the making.
“For me, standing in big games is very exciting for me, I find it extra special and Pakistan has been one team where I have been very fortunate. I have been able to do well in a lot of games. Hardik ready for Pakistan challenge
After a forgetful outing for MI, Hardik made a brilliant return in the blue jersey for India. During India’s warm-up game, Hardik unleashed his batting exploits by scoring 40* runs from 23 balls. In India’s first Group A match, Hardik shone with the ball as he picked up 3 wickets at a spicy Nassau County International Cricket Stadium and gave away 27 runs in his 4-over quota. Hardik would look to continue his decent form as India will face Pakistan.
In 5 T20I innings against Pakistan, Hardik has scored 84 runs, with the highest score being 40 at a strike-rate of 127.27. Meanwhile, in the bowling department, he has 11 scalps to his name at an economy-rate of 9.55. He held the fort on the other end and was involved in a memorable partnership with Virat Kohli during the T20 World Cup 2022 match against Pakistan, which India won by 4 wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia.
