Here’s What We Know About Season 14 of Blue Bloods

When Blue Bloods premiered on CBS in 2010, its combination of police procedural and family drama seemed engineered to be a hit, but it was uncertain just how much longevity there was in its central premise. Following the Reagans, an Irish-American family who all have jobs in law enforcement, the series set out to focus on the role each character plays in pursuing justice—from beat cop to prosecutor—and explore their differences via a weekly family dinner.

13 years later, it’s safe to say that idea had plenty of runway. Season 13 concluded in May 2023, with 5.78 million viewers tuning in for the finale, which saw the return of both serial killer Dr. Walker and Jennifer Esposito as detective Jackie Curatola. That episode ended with the culprit escaping, leaving at least one storyline unresolved.

Is Blue Bloods coming back?

Blue Bloods was renewed for a fourteenth season in March 2023, so fans are guaranteed at least one more year with the Reagan clan. Although plans for future seasons beyond 14 have yet to be confirmed, series lead Tom Selleck has expressed his hopes for more.

“I don’t think there is an end point,” he said. “I think there is a lot of life in the show, as long as you let your characters grow and get older.”

When will Season 14 of Blue Bloods air?

The new season was originally intended to begin in 2023, as the show has typically run from fall/winter into the following spring. However, due to delays to production incurred by the recently-resolved WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Season 14 of Blue Bloods is now slated to premiere on February 16, 2024.

Who will return to the cast?

Tom Selleck will reprise the role of family patriarch and police commissioner Frank Reagan. Donnie Wahlberg will return as detective Danny Reagan, as will Bridget Moynahan as ADA Erin Reagan. Also coming back for Season 14 are Will Estes as Jamie Reagan, Len Cariou as Henry Reagan, Marisa Ramirez as Maria Baez, and Vanessa Ray as Eddie Janko-Reagan.
