One of the many perks of travelling has to be checking into your accommodation and falling in love with the bedding. The mattress is often the first thing you’ll notice, followed shortly by the pillows.
After all, a good pillow can make a break a night’s sleep. And then you’re often left guessing just how much the amazing thread count will set you back.
So if, like me, you’re a fan of ‘luxury at a small price’, then there may just be a pillow set out there that’ll answer your sleeping prayers. People have been raving about the Adam Home breathable pillows with quilted covers, available on Amazon, where a pack of two is going for just £14.99 – down from £20.99.
That’s around £7.50 a pillow – compared to a one-pack, which sells for £8.95. As is usually the case, the more pillows you buy, the cheaper they become per item – a four-pack costs £24.99 (£6.25 per pillow), while a six-pack retails at £34.99 (£5.83 each).
That sounds like quite a bargain if their description is anything to go by, which touts them as being ‘extra soft with quilted case and ultra plush filling offer great comfort and sleep to all family members’. They also have a rating of 4.3 from 24,689 global ratings, reports Wales Online.

So what sets these pillows apart?
They’re filled with a hollow-fibre material, meaning they’re extra breathable – a bonus if you tend to overheat at night. Plus, they don’t contain and materials that are likely to cause allergies, and are designed for all types of sleepers – regardless of whether you snooze on your front, back or side.
One five star review on Amazon said the pillows are ‘luxury at a small price’, adding that they are ‘great, thick stuffing and seem to be holding their shape well, comfortable and has given me the neck support I needed so better sleep’. A four-star review said they were “good quality for the price. Firm and comfortable”.
The pillows are a hit with Amazon shoppers
However, what works for some doesn’t work for everyone, so it’s worth taking into account what those who weren’t impressed said too. One customer said the quality was inconsistent, writing: “I’ve ordered two of these pillows on separate occasions. One is really good quality, very fluffy and keeps it’s shape. The other is a completely different material on the outside and using a different stuffing, it became flat very quickly. I’d order more but I don’t want to risk getting the poorer quality pillow. “.
Someone else shared their less than positive experience in a three-star review. “Not as good as reviews said, but have used in spare room,” they wrote.
Shopping around is always a good option too. Argos has a two pack of the Silentnight Luxury Hotel Collection Pillows (in Medium/Soft) for £18.00, down from £24.00 And Dunelm is offering a Hotel Pack of 2 Luxury Cotton Side Sleeper Pillows for £14.40, also discounted from the original price of £18.
If you want to splash out though and treat yourself, you can up the budget go for Debenham’s Snuggledown 2 Pack Retreat Indulgent Cotton Soft Support Pillow. With a name like Snuggledown, how can you not have a good night’s rest?! But they are a bit pricier, coming in at £42.30, down from £49.
