Some of us show our love through acts of service.
This can be cleaning the house, doing the laundry or even cooking your loved one a nice meal. But when these acts aren’t appreciated, it’s very frustrating.
One woman learned this the hard way when she whipped up a nice meal for her hubby. On Mumsnet, the furious woman revealed her partner “moaned” instead of being appreciative.
Despite being ungrateful about the food put in front of him, the “mummy’s boy” is apparently unable to “cook or prepare food” himself. On the popular parenting forum, she said: “I hate cooking and meal planning but accepted that was my role when we got together – but never dreamt how fussy he would be.
“Today I couldn’t think of anything so made a tuna pasta bake. It had onions, peppers and sweetcorn so contained protein, carbs, dairy and veg. He moaned and moaned and stared at it, pushing it round his plate, for ages. The kids loved it and had seconds”.
However, it was her hubby’s six-word jibe that really riled her up. He said it was “for people who had no teeth”, and also said “nobody eats food like that”.
Enraged by the “rude” response, the woman added: “He really p****d me off and I did get quite angry.” And she wasn’t alone – as Mumsnetters were equally irate about the situation.
In the comments, one said: “He’s weird. If he doesn’t like it he can learn to cook and do himself something else.” Another fumed: “Is he a toddler who doesn’t like his food touching? A pasta bake is a good meal. If he’s going to be fussy he can learn to cook! You are definitely not being unreasonable.”
And a third added: “He can learn to cook, it’s never too late. Start making more meals you and the children enjoy and leave him to grumble. What would happen if you became unable to cook at all? He needs to grow up.”
