If you’ve started thinking about shopping for your spring wardrobe then you’ve come to the right place. Over here at OK! we are desperate to ditch our winter woollies for something a little lighter. Thankfully, as the seasonal change approaches the new collections have been trickling onto the high street over the past few weeks and they’re seriously putting us in the mood for some retail therapy.
Updating your look for the season ahead can be a minefield, especially with trends ever-changing, the cost of living crisis tightening our belts and untold options on offer, however, I’m here to bring you the best edits which I not only hope will make your shopping experience a pleasant one but save you some pennies along the way too.
I strongly believe you don’t need to shop designer labels to look stylish, you can find some real high-street gems if you know where to look. I’m ready to point you in the right direction- first stop M&S.
M&S has been in the spotlight this week as they’ve just launched their second ‘love your boobs campaign,’ which sees the brand celebrate their lingerie expertise with an inclusive model lineup. However, as much as the brand’s undies department is my ultimate go too when I need a fitting, It’s their spring womenswear collection I simply can’t get enough off at the moment.
Shop the spring collection at M&S now you’ll find some chic pieces at affordable prices.

Their latest denim drop has been a huge success, with their £79 denim trench coat selling out within the week not to mention the countless items we’ve spotted going viral. Shoppers have been scrambling to get their hands on affordable designer alternatives, like the Chanel-inspired cardigan £35 here, and the £45 slingbacks that could be mistaken for Miu Miu.
If you’re in the market for a few new spring buys then I suggest you start by making a list of the pieces you are looking for. What is your wardrobe missing? Is there a new trend you want to try, or do you want to stick to wardrobe staples that stand the test of time?
Either way, M&S is a one-stop shop for spring essentials. I’ve rounded up 10 items to pop on your wish list pronto…

4. Leather Lace Up Side Detail Trainers

If M&S trainers are good enough for The Princess Of Wales then they’re good enough for us. I’m a big fan and already own a few pairs myself. New neutrals are calling for spring (you’ll see them all over the high street at the moment) and go with everything so you won’t regret investing in a pair.
They are comfy, chic and an absolute style steal for under £50. Trust me when I say you won’t want to take them off.

Spring is the perfect time to embrace new colorways and introduce some bright hues into your existing wardrobe. If you need some styling inspo teaming a colour pop sweater with your denim is one of the easiest ways to do so.
This comfy cotton style comes in six different colours including neutrals, but if you want my advice the sunny yellow shade will give you all the dopamine feels.

Shopping cleverly means investing in classics that will never date. If you’re yet to purchase a trench coat, your spring wardrobe will thank you for it. Throw it on over your tailoring, a midi dress, or even your trackie when doing the school run. The trench will elevate even the most casual of outfits.
Consider this one a purse-friendly designer alternative. A Burberry gabardine mac would set you back over £2k so at £150 you’ll make a pretty good saving if you ask me. Shop the wool-blend black wide-leg trousers for £89 here.

(Image: M&S)
M&S have certainly upped their footwear game and you’ll find trend-led pieces at very reasonable prices. An insider at the brand also told me they have focused on offering customers more practical heel heights and styles, which was a particular shift following the lockdown.
These sustainably sourced leather heels have just dropped and I had to show you. The soft green shade screams spring whilst the block heel makes them easier to walk in if you’ve given up on stilettos. One happy customer said, “Loved them the minute I saw them and they’re gorgeous. Nice wide fit, comfortable and stylish. “

It wouldn’t be spring without a seasonal stripe.
(Image: M&S)
Stripes for spring? Hardly groundbreaking I know but there is no avoiding them I am afraid. I stumbled across this shirt dress in the Autograph range and consider it a worthy investment. The satin fabric and the monochrome stripes give it a luxe appeal.
Top tip on wearing stripes: if you want to look slimmer make sure you go for vertical designs which will elongate your torso. Clever, huh?
If you still need more shopping inspiration for spring you’ll find new collections online at all the big retailers. New Look has some affordable new in-season styles here and I’m drooling over Mint Velvet’s selection of ballet flats here -another big trend to watch.
Happy Shopping!
