ITV News presenter Rageh Omaar is currently receiving medical care after he became unwell live on-air, the TV channel says.
The anchor was delivering the 10pm news when he began stumbling over his words and Omaar, who serves as International Affairs Editor, has since thanked everyone for their well wishes via a statement issued by ITV this morning, the BBC reports.
The broadcaster has not released any further details of Omaar’s condition or what happened to him during the broadcast. However, the re-run of the broadcast on ITV +1 was pulled with a short message telling viewers that ITV was “temporarily unable to bring you our +1 service”.

Eagle-eyed viewers even noticed that he appeared to be struggling to read the news bulletins – sparking concern online with many flocking to social media to express their worries.
Here’s everything we know about news presenter’s life away from the cameras…
Rageh was born in Mogadishu, the largest city in Somalia, and moved to the UK when he was just two-years-old. During his time in education, he studied at the Dragon School, Oxford, and Cheltenham College in Gloucestershire.
The Somali-born British journalist rose to prominence through his work as a foreign correspondent for the BBC during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

He won numerous awards for his work during this time, including a Peabody Award for his reports for the BBC from Sudan and a BAFTA for the BBC’s coverage of the invasion of Afghanistan, amazingly, he was the only western TV journalist to report from inside Taliban-held Kabul.
During the conflict his reports were syndicated across the United States by ABC News and he became a recognisable face world wide.
He then worked at Al Jazeera International from 2006-2010, where he presented the weekday documentary series Witness, working as a Middle Eastern correspondent for the London Division.

He joined ITV News as a special correspondent and presenter in January 2013, reporting on news stories, as well as producing special in-depth reports, before he then became International Affairs Editor for ITV News in 2014.
Rageh has also made numerous documentaries including the BBC’s landmark series “The Life of Muhammad”. He has written two books; ‘Revolution Day’ on the invasion of Iraq and ‘Only Half of Me’, on growing up as a British Muslim.

Away from the spotlight, Rageh lives in London with his wife Georgiana Rose “Nina” Montgomery-Cuninghame, the daughter of Sir John Montgomery-Cuninghame of Corsehill, and three children – Loula, Sami and Zachary.
The father-of-three imaintains close contact with his family in Somalia, he is an activist for the Somali community, and regularly attends its lectures and events.
Omaar now covers major news stories as ITV’s international affairs editor, while also presenting the channel’s current affairs programme On Assignment.
