Inside Love Island villa as Hideaway undergoes seductive revamp and boss promises sex will be shown
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Love Island villa as fans know it has undergone a glamorous All Stars makeover ahead of the series launch next week.

ITV bosses are calling the new spin-off its ‘most explosive and seductive yet’ – with the promise of brand new twists to keep the stars on their toes – including the notorious Hideaway undergoing an eyebrow raising makeover.

For the first time ever, the secluded cabin – that is now cut off entirely from the rest of the house – will feature not one but two double beds with the promise of sleepovers and twice the fun.

The new love pad also boasts an adjacent secret garden providing the perfect romantic setting for intimate dates – or the entrance of a mystery bombshell.

The rest of the house has not been forgotten, with bosses upping the anti with brighter and fresher interiors and a dazzling gold theme throughout, fit for a series of returning icons.

‌In a nod to past legends, the All Stars house features even more classic catchphrases from the ITV2 dating show than ever before adorning the walls from Maura Higgins ’ fanny flutters’ in the glam room to Shaughna Phillips’ ‘Congrats hun’ by the gym.

The sprawling villa, set in the heart of a vineyard in the stunning South Africa countryside, is grander than ever but couples will still find cosy places to get intimate – or vent to their castmates – with a number of secluded nooks to escape to this year.

However, there will be nowhere to hide from viewers with over 72 cameras ready and waiting to catch all the action. Secret microphones have even been set up behind the contestants’ pillows to make sure nothing is missed – not even when the lights go off.

Familiar classics like the day beds, the swimming pool and the gym return to the garden while the firepit has undergone a modern update. Sneaky bosses have installed air vents in the backs of the chairs to alter the temperature of the seating area in a bid to keep contestants glued to their seats for as long as possible when the tension is riding high.

Filling us in on the changes to the villa on location in South Africa, Love Island’s executive producer Mike Spencer told the Mirror: “We wanted to go high end hotel vibe for the Hideaway which I love. You may or may not have noticed a pull down double bed. The world is your oyster with a second bed.”

Quizzed on whether the villa will see if its first ever throuple this year with the term being the new dating buzzword, Mike said: “Everyone loves a throuple right now. Let’s see. We wouldn’t say no. It would test the format a little bit.

“We didn’t make the adjustments with solely that in mind but I think sleepovers will be more fun in here. And there could be new bombshells coming in this way. Having the extra bed will be helpful.. and fun.”

The Hideaway’s drawer of goodies has now expanded to a double wardrobe – with the room fully stocked for contestants to really let loose on their night away.

While bosses have gone all out to encourage the stars to get close, producer Mike believes having an existing celebrity platform will not stop the All Stars from getting intimate with their partners during their time in the villa.

“These guys are fun, they do what they want and they are all adults. We will show those scenes this series if there are any. Compared to the early series we can show it in subtle ways – something falling off bed or with music. It’s all part of the show, if you really like someone you take it to the next level.”

Agreeing, returning host Maya Jama added: “It’s a show about love isn’t it!?”

While the returning contestants have reportedly asked for better pay than in previous years, bosses have also gone out of their way to keep them looking their best throughout the time in the villa. While the 12 stars will have to share the one shower as usual, the revamped pink and gold glam room is bursting with beauty products and lined with mirrors. This year’s line-up will be dressed in head to toe in pre-loved fashion from eBay with stylists sending in personalised looks to suit each individual’s tastes through the five week series.

Continuing the villa’s All Star gold theme, the dazzling main bedroom – currently featuring six closely packed beds – is adorned full of sequins and metallic interiors to help the famous stars settle in to their new home.

‌“Like the rest of the house we have made the bedroom much more boujie. It’s hotel vibes,” says producer Mike. “The villa is set up for the divas so we are ready to embrace it.”

As well as updating the villa, ITV bosses have taken extra care this series to make sure there are still enough twists and turns to keep the OGs on their toes after ten series of Love Island.

This week the Mirror revealed how Casa Amor has been axed in favour of a new midway series shake-up – with other updates still to be revealed.

Mike said: “We’re not doing Casa Amor this year. We’ve got to be reactive. These islanders have done it before. We have to be one step ahead.”

Love Island: All Stars launches on Monday 15th January at 9pm on ITV1, ITV2, ITVX & STV
