The iconic 90s sitcom Sister Sister has marked its 30th anniversary, with the stars reflecting fondly back on their time on the show. Fans will remember the US series, which launched in 1994, starring identical twin sisters Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell who were separated at birth, only to be reunited as teenagers.
The sisters are twins in real life with the surname, Mowry but Tamera has since married and now goes by the surname of Mowry-Housley. On the show, they were joined by their on-screen mum Jackée Harry, who played the role of Lisa Landry and Tim Reid, who played their dad Ray Campbell.

Marking 30 years since the hit TV show kicked off, Tia, who is now 45, took to Instagram with a series of snaps from the show and a heartfelt caption. She penned: “Today is the 30th anniversary of Sister, Sister and I’m so grateful for this show and the experiences it has given me. It was the first time I really believed in myself and my dreams.
“I remember being on a press tour in New York when the show premiered, feeling like all my hard work and prayers had paid off. My sister and I faced rejection when our show wasn’t initially picked up, but we didn’t give up. We prayed and were later told the show would be a mid-season replacement.”

The TV star continued: “A Mid-season replacement is a show that replaces a show that didn’t do well in the Fall. We were back up. Whenever I feel like I get to a place where I want to quit, I go back to that moment and remember that dreams do come true and to keep going and keep believing.”
Lisa actress Jackée Harry, who is now 67, also marked the milestone day and wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “30 years since our little show premiered!

“We didn’t predict this longevity or success, but it should come as no surprise. When you put love, friendship, identity & heritage at the core of your work – it turns into something everyone can relate to.”
The show ended in 1999 and the twins continued a career in acting together. They starred in the movie Seventeen Again in 2000, the Disney series Twitches and Twitches Too and in 2011 launched their own reality TV show, Tia & Tamera.

Tia went into solo acting and starred in the TV series The Game, Nickelodeon’s Instant Mom and Netflix’s series Family Reunion. Away from fame, Tia married Cory Hardict in 2008, before they split in 2022. Together they welcomed a son Cree in 2011 and daughter Cairo in 2014.
Tamera also dabbled in a solo career and starred in the medical drama Strong Medicine, before co-hosting the talk show, The Real. She went on to host Home & Family for a year and was a contestant on The Masked Singer US during series five.
She tied the knot with former Fox News correspondent Adam Housley in 2011 and the couple share two children, son Aden and daughter Ariah.
