Former A Place In The Sun presenter Jonnie Irwin, who has tragically passed away following a battle with lung cancer, tied the knot with Jessica Holmes in 2016.
The pair shared three children: Rex, five, and twins Rafa and Corma, three.
Last year, he praised his “whirlwind” of a wife and admitted that life has “not been easy” since his diagnosis.
Jess, who has kept largely out of the spotlight, gave a rare interview where she recalled her husband apologising profusely for having the disease.
She said: “He couldn’t stop apologising. He kept saying ‘sorry’ over and over and I just kept telling him it wasn’t his fault.”
The mother-of-three, who commended her husband’s “sheer willpower”, also said he gave her his blessing to move on with someone else following his death.

Nevertheless, she insisted that this was the last thing on her mind.
She added to The Sun: “I can think of the support I’ll need and that sort of thing but when it comes to me, my life is the boys.
“That’s enough for me. That’s where my thinking stops.
“It terrifies me that I’m suddenly going to be in a house on my own, the sole adult with three young boys. The prospect of being a single mum and a widow is awful to think about.”

Jess lamented that she “never chose to do this on my own” and “picked Jonnie because I knew he would be an amazing dad and life partner”.
“So more than anything I’m just gutted we’re not going to have that, for both our sakes,” she continued.
As all of their children are so young, Jonnie confessed that it can be a “handful”, however, the TV personality couldn’t handle things without Jessica’s help.

He told Express.co.uk: “It’s not easy but thanks to my whirlwind of a wife we’re getting there. But it’s mostly down to Jess, my wife.”
He has previously discussed his lively lads, saying: “They are noisy. They’re amazing. They are the spit of their mum but as loud as me which is a real worry for the population generally.”
This proud BBC host also made it a point to appreciate another woman in his life, his ex-colleague and buddy Jasmine Harman. He said: “Jasmine and I are bezzie mates. She’s been a rock to me.”
