Laura Anderson and Gary Lucy first met when they both took part in Celebs Go Dating last year and are now expecting a child together, despite parting ways. During their time on the popular E4 reality show which is now filming its new series, the pair “broke the rules”.
The new series of Celebs Go Dating will welcome a new set of celebrities ready to take the leap into dating with the help of a team of experts. This year’s cast includes Vanessa Feltz, Adam Collard, Chloe Burrows, Mark-Francis Vandelli, Lottie Moss and Spuddz.
The celebrities taking part will be matched with singletons who are not in the public eye and along the way will be given guidance by a team of dating experts. One of which is Celebs Go Dating expert Anna Williamson who spoke exclusively to OK! and said that during Laura and Gary’s time on the show last year they “broke the rules”.

The pair first met when filming began in July 2022, at the time Laura had recently split from singer, Dane Bowers who she had lived in Dubai with. As the show is aimed at celebrities dating members of the public, the former Love Islander, 34 who is currently pregnant and the Hollyoaks actor, 41 couldn’t resist and instead opted to date each other.
Gary ended up asking Laura out on a date after realising he had feelings for the blond beauty – an unusual outcome for the E4 dating show. Laura had even admitted that she used to fancy Gary during his time on Footballer’s Wives in the early 2000s.
At the time, she said: “My mum fancies him! And my friends are obsessed.” Following the show’s wrap party the pair went official with their relationship, much to the delight of fans.

They announced their pregnancy news in February

After a whirlwind romance, the pair announced in February they were expecting their first child together. Not long after finding out she was pregnant the couple split which Laura told OK! was “unpredicted” and “was not planned.”
The Celebs Go Dating expert was part of the show when Laura and Gary first met each other and said: “Laura and Gary are wonderful people and I know they’re going to be wonderful parents for their baby.”
Anna went on to say: “If we see something that’s genuine, which it was, we always follow it and endorse it.
“But normally it’s the general public that apply to come on the show and we will work out if they’re a match to go out on a date with our celebs.”

She went on to share how it feels when they see successful matches from the show and said: “It’s one of the best parts of the show, it is a TV show but it is also real, it’s authentic, everything we do is genuinely real.
“We also remember as well that it is Celebs Go Dating it isn’t Celebs get married and if it ends up in that, that’s lovely but what we’re really trying to do with the show is really help people be better daters and be better in their world with relationships if we get to marriage and a baby at the end that’s just the icing on the cake.”
The new series of Celebs Go Dating is currently being filmed and is expected to air towards the end of summer on E4.
